Blood flow is everything for egg quality and lining quality.

The nutrients your follicle needs this cycle and the lining being built right now for implantation are carried by one thing: blood.

You already know this. It's why you've been taking supplements for blood flow, eating warm foods, and wearing warm socks.

This is genuinely good work on the inside, and they work slowly. The effects build over weeks and months. That’s just how the body responds.

But NONE OF THEM will deliver the actual nutrients that your ovaries and uterus need this cycle as quickly as using TEAS.

TEAS is different in one specific way.  It increases blood flow within a 30-minute session when used properly.

Why it works

Transcutaneous Electrical Acupoint Stimulation.

It involves using a TENS unit (you may already have one) and placing the pads on specific acupuncture points that support your reproductive system.

A low-frequency pulse on the points dilates the blood vessels connected to your ovaries and uterus, and pushes more blood, oxygen, and hormones to your reproductive organs.

At the same time, the signal reaches the hypothalamus, the brain's hormone command center, helping regulate the GnRH, FSH, LH, and estrogen that drive follicle growth, ovulation, and lining development.

Backed by research

Nothing will boost blood flow faster than this.

Not castor oil with a heating pad that superficially warms the skin.

Not even red light therapy belts.

Red light cannot physically reach your ovaries. It penetrates a few millimeters to centimeters into tissue, and your ovaries sit far deeper than that.

TEAS has been studied in many clinical fertility settings over 20 years. Some of the results from most recent studies showed:

  • For women over age of 35: pregnancy rate was 49.7% in the group that used TEAS vs. 23.7% in the group that did not.

  • During IVF transfer: pregnancy rate was 30.8% vs. 13.9% in the group that used TEAS and did not use TEAS, respectively.

  • Overall pregnancy rate: In a meta-analysis of 19 clinical trials involving over 5300 women, the pregnancy rate was 43% higher in the group that used TEAS than in the group that did not.

  • Overall live birth rate: In the group that used TEAS, the live birth rate (actually taking a healthy baby home) was 42% higher than in the group that did not.

Every blood flow method, side by side
You have probably tried most of this list. Here is how each one holds up on the four questions that actually matter.
Method
Reaches the ovaries and uterus?
Studied in fertility research?
Can you verify it is working?
At home, on your schedule?
Warm socks
Reaches the ovaries and uterus? Not their job. Socks protect against cold entering, they do not generate flow
Studied in fertility research? Not as a blood flow intervention
Can you verify it is working?Nothing to measure
At home, on your schedule?Yes, and keep doing it
Warm drinks
Reaches the ovaries and uterus? Not directly. They protect digestion, which is how your body builds blood in the first place
Studied in fertility research? Not as a blood flow intervention
Can you verify it is working?Nothing to measure
At home, on your schedule?Yes, and keep doing it
Castor oil packs
Reaches the ovaries and uterus? No evidence it goes past the skin
Studied in fertility research? No human trials
Can you verify it is working? No
At home, on your schedule?Yes
Circulation supplements
Reaches the ovaries and uterus?Systemic and indirect
Studied in fertility research?Limited and mixed
Can you verify it is working? No
At home, on your schedule?Yes
Red light therapy
Reaches the ovaries and uterus?Physically cannot reach the pelvis
Studied in fertility research? Not for fertility blood flow
Can you verify it is working? No
At home, on your schedule?Yes
TEAS
Reaches the ovaries and uterus?Yes, through nerve pathway signaling
Studied in fertility research?20+ years of trials, including an RCT of 739 women and a meta-analysis of 5,300+
Can you verify it is working?Blood flow changes measured within a 30-minute session
At home, on your schedule?Yes
Acupuncture remains the gold standard for hands-on pattern-based care. TEAS is what I give my own patients to extend that work between sessions.
